During the current situation, the electricity prices in Pakistan rise day by day. According to the world bank report Pakistan has the 40 GW solar potential. Now people want to shift towards renewable energy mainly solar energy. Most People are non-technical and face difficulty in selecting the size of the solar system.

To facilitate the users, I have developed a solar calculator with the help of Mr. Sarmad (BS CS student) for the estimation of the size of the solar system. By using this calculator a citizen has an idea about the size of the solar system as well as the prices of panels and backup batteries.

How to calculate the system size by solar calculator

Read all the appliances given in the calculator and the columns show the no of appliances and the wattage of that particular appliance.

Now select the appliances and their number according to your choice. For example, I have selected 2 fans, 3 LED bulbs, 1 washing machine, and 1 AC.

Check the selected appliances to show their wattage in the third column respectively.

In the third column, the last box at the bottom shows the total power in watts of the appliance selected by the user.

Now if you want to calculate the power in kilo-watts divide the calculated power by 1000 it follows.

1315/1000=1.3 KW

The power of selected appliances in KW is 1.3.
